(Atlanta) – This place was my second home in Atlanta when I was still living there a few years ago. I have been numerous times to this café for afternoon coffee, Sunday tea, brunch, lunch, dinner, pre-party cocktails, late night drink and night cap; so many times I couldn’t count anymore. My friend Cha introduced me to Café Intermezzo almost 8 years ago and it became a part of my culinary indulgence ever since.
This café is a European coffeehouse with a Vienna-inspired ambiance. It has more than a hundred different kinds of tortes, tarts, cakes, pies and cheescakes; over a hundred alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages; and wide array of dishes for breakfast, snack, lunch and dinner. For a restaurant of this size which is not very big, there is an exaggerated varieties of food and beverage offerings. It’s hard to imagine how they can maintain the quality of food with this vast menu. However, I can’t think of an instant when I left this café disappointed or complaining.
So I flew to Atlanta again a few weeks ago for work after 3 years. My familiarity with the city should prevent me from getting excited. But the thoughts of re-visiting my favorite food places in Atlanta that kept me company for almost 4 wonderful years of living there, is more than enough reason to go back with eager anticipation. One of them is Café Intermezzo.
I spent dinner at Holeman and Finch already but I can’t afford to miss Café Intermezzo on my first night. So right after dinner, my friend and I went straight to Café Intermezzo for some coffee and dessert.
